Petition Allocate funds to boxing as part of the Sport Winter Survival Package
We would like the government to look again at its allocation of funds from the £300m Sport Winter Survival Package and to include the sport of boxing within this, which currently will receive £0.
We don’t believe this is right or a true reflection of boxing’s worth to this country.
More details
Boxing is a sport participated by over 1m people in the UK. As well as this, it provides an income to thousands and is home to hundreds of dedicated clubs, many of which are from the poorest and most deprived areas of this country.
These individuals and clubs heavily rely on regular forms of paying spectators to attend live boxing. From 90,000 fans at a stadium, to 90 people at a club show, no audience in attendance has had a hugely negative impact and will continue to do so.

You can get involved with the inquiry by recording your own video message or short film to answer the question: What does community sport mean to me?
You must follow current COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions when filming your video- do not put yourself and others at risk. You can use animation, film your video indoors and you don’t need to film outside. We want to hear about why community sport is important to you and why it matters to you.
