Closed Create a national holiday for Diwali and Eid (like for Christmas and Easter)

For Christmas and Easter there are bank holidays but for Eid and Diwali there isn’t. We would like to spend the whole day with our friends and family too.

This year due to lockdown Diwali and Eid was cancelled. It was understandable for public morale that Christmas a religious and public holiday festival that lockdown was lifted (in a limited way) for friends and family partly it due to being a ‘national holiday’. We would like Muslims/Sikhs and Hindus to have a protected day in the future, where they can have a national holiday too to celebrate the most important day of the calendar with family and friends.
