We want the Government to review the care leavers strategy and consider implementing:
- Extending the age of housing support/funding for those in education to 25
- Making care leaver housing providers more accountable for shortcomings in accommodation

Having spent a large time of my life in the care of the local authority I am saddened but unfortunately not shocked at the unnecessary hurdles that care leavers and looked after children face compared to their peers. I currently face the prospect of losing my accommodation post-21 despite the fact I am in full - time further education. My LA are no longer obliged to pay costs. Housing is obsimal and neglectful. The statistical outcomes for care leavers are shocking

This has to change.
