Closed Require sentences for sexual offences to be served consecutively

Concurrent sentences are served at the same time and consecutive sentences are served one after another. Sentences are often served concurrently even for serious offences such as rape and other sexual offences.

Many victims of sexual abuse think this concurrent sentence don’t bring the sexual offender to justice. Concurrent sentences are often given out to first time offenders but they aren’t first time offenders if they have repeated the crime.
