Closed petition Enact a full lockdown for during January to stop the new variant of Covid-19

To ensure that our NHS does not become overwhelmed we have to ensure that the virus is stopped now before it can spread further through the population and destroy more lives. To ensure any hope of recovery from the pandemic we have to enact a nationwide lockdown across the UK instead of tiers.

With the current rates of coronavirus and the new variants spreading through the population it is important to protect our population now instead of allowing the virus to destroy livelihoods and the economy further.

The tiered system is fundamentally flawed as people are travelling through tiers and infecting loved ones. The current level of cases has also exceeded the last national lockdown exponentially and as a result the UK is facing a healthcare and economic crisis due to lack of capacity
