Rejected petition Allow both parents to attend a hospital appointment with their child

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, both parents of a child I.e. mother and father are not allowed inside a hospital for their child’s appointment. Only one adult is allowed to be with the child. This includes in ambulances and in A&E.

More details

Going to hospital with your child for an appointment or for an emergency can be a very stressful experience. Especially as a new parent in 2020.
Please allow both parents to go inside the hospital and be with the child. Both parents deserve to be by the child’s side.
It is difficult to deal with doctors and nurses while your child is in an uncomfortable situation.
Please review the policy & advise hospitals accordingly.

This petition was rejected

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

Under the current Covid-19 restrictions you are allowed to leave your home to visit someone who is in a hospital: https://www.gov.uk/guidance/national-lockdown-stay-at-home

Visitng policies for individual hospitals are a matter for NHS England and individual NHS trusts, not the Government or House of Commons. You should contact your local hospital to find out what their visiting policy is.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
