We’re waiting for a new Petitions Committee

Petitions had to stop because of the recent general election. Once a new Petitions Committee is set up by the House of Commons, petitions will start again.

Rejected petition To allow civil weddings to take place during 2021 lockdown

We want you to allow simple civil ceremonies to take place during the lockdown which only includes bride, groom and two of their witnesses.

More details

This allows people who have been waiting for months to a year to get legally married the way people who are in their death beds are. It will have the same risk as someone who is in their deathbed. But, for those who are not in their deathbed you should only allow bride, groom and two of their witnesses.
