This petition was rejected
Why was this petition rejected?
It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.
The offence of corporate murder enables organisations to be prosecuted where they have paid insufficient regard to the proper management of health and safety with fatal results. Individuals cannot be prosecuted for the offence, whether as an accessory or otherwise. You can find out more about the law on corporate murder here: https://www.cps.gov.uk/legal-guidance/corporate-manslaughter
Deciding whether to proceed with a prosecution for any offence, including corporate manslaughter, is a matter for the Crown Prosecution Service, not the Government or House of Commons.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
