Closed petition End the Digital Divide for children in the UK
Closed on
We want the Government to: provide free internet access to children whose families can't afford it; provide an electronic learning device to children whose families can't afford it and ensure digital citizenship and safe online learning curriculum is part of the National Curriculum.
An estimated 1.1-1.8 million children don't have this access, this is preventing them from obtaining a basic and free quality education. The Government has said that these children can continue to go into school, putting themselves, their families and other students who need to go into school, and finally teachers at higher risk. It is 2021. We live in a technologically driven society. Digital inequality and awareness is a huge issue that must be addressed.
