Statutory Sick Pay to be increased to £330 per week paid to anyone in the UK who has to take sick leave or isolate during the COVID-019 pandemic, e.g. until 31 December 2021

To ensure that EVERYONE can afford to take sick leave or isolate and thus reduce the transmission of COVID-19. This will support vaccination to ensure that transmission is held down whilst the vaccination program is rolled out. It will also support planned asymptomatic testing programs, as the scheme in Liverpool identified that people with less financial stability were less likely to get tested, and so likely to increase transmission.
