Rejected petition Allow the prime minister to be referred to as a liar
Since parliament is unwilling to enforce its own rules about lies and deceit, our MPs should be allowed to refer to prime minister Boris Johnson as a liar in parliament.
More details
Prime minister Boris Johnson lies in parliament every week, despite the rules, and rarely with consequence.
Indeed, he is protected by the rules, as they prevent him from being referred to as such.
In doing so, he brings parliament into disrepute, and is disrespectful to the public - the people he claims to represent.
Since parliament is unwilling to rectify this, our MPs should be allowed to refer to him, and only him, as a liar in parliament.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. It's already possible for a Minister to be accused of lying, but can be done as part of a motion about the issue. You can find out more here:
