Closed petition Fund a Lunar colony.

Fund and build one or more self-sustainable human outposts on the Earth's moon to act as a staging location for future colonisation of solar system as well as harvesters of Thorium and Helium-3 fuel sources which are abundant on the moon and can be used in Thorium (LFTR) and nuclear fusion reactors.

With climate change increasing the need for nuclear power as a primary energy source, this government is already investigating modern reactors which use Thorium to increase efficiency, and fusion and LFTR reactors, while still in the early stages of adoption offer greater gains which would justify this course of action in 50 years.

A more human justification is simply that this is the next logical step for our civilisation, and shows that we have faith in our collective futures in the universe.
