Rejected petition Add another year to children’s education so they recover from the pandemic

Add another year to the education system in the UK to allow children impacted by the pandemic to have the opportunity to learn without being under pressure and have time to play and socialise with their friends. The mental health of children and teachers should be prioritised over milestones.

More details

Our children’s mental health is more important than what they know by a certain age. They have not only lost out on education but they have missed the social interactions and play that are an important part of their development. They don’t need to learn under any more pressure. Stress works against development it doesn’t aid it. The children need time to readjust, learn and have fun. Teachers have done a great job through covid and they also don’t need any more pressure applied to them.
