Rejected petition Prioritise mental health support in the long term recovery plans from Covid-19.

We would like the Government to:
• Ensure that mental health support is as important as the economy as we come out of the Covid crisis.
• Commit to invest in mental health services as opposed to cutting them.
• Publish genuine analysis of the impact that Covid-19 has had on mental health.

More details

Covid-19 and the measures taken to deal with it have had a huge effect on mental health. At Good Mental Health we see the results daily and know how much people are going to need support to come out of this. Children will face the impact for years to come, adults have had to adjust to a way of life that will leave emotional scars and frontline workers will be dealing with the impact of things they have faced for the rest of their lives. Institutional support is needed to ensure we move forward.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

We understand you are concerned about support for mental health as the country recovers from the Covid-19 pandemic. However it's not clear what specific actions you want the Government to take to "ensure that mental health support is as important as the economy as we come out of the Covid crisis".

You could start a petition calling for the Government to fund targeted mental health support for those affected by Covid-19, if that is something you'd like to happen. Alternatively, you could start a petition calling on the Government to commission a review into the impact of the pandemic on mental health in the UK, if that is something you'd like to happen.
