The Government should make the hate crime of stirring up hatred based on disability a specific criminal offence.

It is already a criminal offence to stir up hatred on grounds of race, religion and sexual orientation, but not disability. This affects how reports are investigated & managed.

This is wrong & offers no sense of protection to the disabled community in terms of recourse as is the case if the hate crime were racially or religiously motivated.
