Rejected petition Discuss in Parliament - The Clay Treaty for conservation

For every US$1/£1 spent by Governments or Corporations on Space research/ travel they spend the same amount on conservation projects.
Mars One estimated cost at US$4 Billion - for a patch of desert on Mars. Another US$6 billion is earmarked to put 4 men on Mars.

I propose a new CLAY treaty that makes all governments and corporations sign up to make a commitment that for every $1 spent on space exploration/space tourism they spend US$1 on conservation. We know NASA space research helps the World, but just spend the same amount on conservation of what we have already here on Earth.
The super-rich will not be remembered for their vanity space projects – but more if they put it where it is needed on Earth.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s about something that the UK Government or Parliament is not directly responsible for.

We can't accept your petition because the UK Government and Parliament aren't responsible for the issue you raise. This is a matter for the United States Government.

We could accept a petition that calls for a similar approach for any UK Government spending on space research and travel.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
