Closed Remove the otter’s protected species status

The Eurasian otter (Lutra Lutra) is now firmly established in the river systems across the UK and appear to be in far greater numbers than anyone can recall.

We believe the protection afforded by a number of priority species lists and The Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981 should be removed as it is no longer appropriate, in order to protect and maintain a balanced riverine environment.
