Closed Prevent non-essential international travel for the rest of 2021

We have all worked so hard and are ready for the UK to move out of lockdown , but we also need to prevent more deaths and another lockdown.

We believe this means preventing all non-essential international travel for the rest of 2021, to prevent new Covid strains and variants from being imported.

* By last summer we had almost suppressed the virus, but by autumn up to 80% of new cases were a variant from Spain

* Our vaccine programme is working much faster than other countries, but could be hindered by importing new variants

* As difficult as it is, we need a much clearer international picture before we let people travel freely again
