Closed petition Support the Turks and Caicos governments to police their borders

The Government should provide financial support and training to the Turks and Caicos governments, which could include training for immigration & border control officers, support for coastal surveillance & tracking of vessels. This is an underfunded area of overseas British sovereign waters.

More details

There has been a serious historical issues with illegal immigration into the overseas British territory of Turks and Caicos, via use of sloops. This is both a threat to local livelihoods and source of increased crime levels, smuggling, and human trafficking. The proposed actions should help foster a more positive local outlook of the British relationship with the islands.
