Closed petition Make Britain rape-free by 2050

The most recent ONS crime survey estimates 640,000 incidents of rape and sexual violence against UK adults (all genders) in a single year. This does not include children.

By committing to reducing incidents of rape to a negligible level by 2050, the UK government can and will change the world.

More details

Make a formal, legally binding pledge to make the UK ‘rape-free’ by 2050.

This should include:

Setting up a commission to review the political and legal instruments by which a rape-free future may be achieved.

Making use of the UK government’s existing and proven capacity in behavioural modelling and technological innovation to eradicate rape from British society.

Include rape statistics as part of human rights considerations when negotiating new trade agreements with third countries.
