Closed petition Ensure violence against women cannot be authorised under the CHIS Act

Closed on

The Government must ensure the Covert Human Intelligence Sources (CHIS) Act is not used to enable undercover operatives to commit violence against women including rape and sexual violence without a criminal punishment. The Government needs to protect women's safety and provide justice for victims.

This Act could enable undercover operatives to be authorised to commit violence against women including rape and sexual violence without any fear of prosecution. The Government needs to ensure that all forms of violence against women will not be authorised under this legislation. Women's safety and human rights need to be prioritised. If women are victims of sexual violence or rape by undercover operatives they need to be able to bring their perpetrator to justice.
