Recent trips in and out of the UK with livestock entail live animals being treated as all other good requiring customs clearance, including those on ATA Carnets.

If the customs would prioritise the clearance of live animals, this would greatly reduce the stress levels. French customs clear the same paperwork very quickly. UK customs merely treat the import and export of live animals in the same way as other non-live goods.
