Rejected petition Use Amber Alerts for missing children

Amber alerts send text messages to your phones about missing children. This would include details such as a physical description, last known location, car registration numbers of interest etc. This would help many children get found quicker and prevent many from being harmed, abducted or killed.

This would help save the lives of many children, some of whom may never be found. It has been found to be helpful elsewhere and it could have the same success here. The criticial time scale is the first 24 hours. If we can get mobile phone operators to put text alerts on every phone about a missing child and the last known details such a registration numbers of verhicles etc., we have a 70% chance of finding them alive.
