Closed Require a by-election when an MP resigns from their party

Change the law so that when an MP resigns from their political party, then a by-election in the constituency they represent should automatically and immediately be triggered.

The vast majority of MPs are voted for as members of a political party. When they resign from that party, it is unfair on their constituents that the party their MP was previously a member of, is no longer represented. MPs are elected and their election campaigns are funded from supporters of the party.
