The military coup in Myanmar has lead to violence against health professionals for treating civilians. Healthcare workers in Myanmar require our protection. The government should setup a refugee program for persecuted health workers that allows them to seek refuge in the UK.

The persecution of healthcare workers in Myanmar is unacceptable. Healthcare workers should be allowed to provide treatment irrespective of their political status. If healthcare workers continue to be persecuted for performing their duties, then they should be able to seek safety in the UK via a formal refugee program supported and funded by HMG.
