Important:

This petition was submitted during the 2019-2024 parliament

Rejected petition Make it law that edited images posted on social media have to say “edited”.

To discuss how influencer/celebrities should be responsible on social media in the same way they have to stipulate if they are advertising something they should have to confirm if an image is edited or retouched. All edited images are creating unattainable standards for young people to reach.

More details

Mental health in young people is so important, especially after lockdown where they have not had their normal lives many are now effected with mental health issues. The constant viewing of edited images on social media creating an image of “perfection” is influencing young people in an extremely negative way.
