Petition Please provide an alternative connection to the new 101 non geographic number
More details
The government has introduced a new 101 non emergency number which does not count as a free call for those whose Pay as You Go budgets only covers calls to landline and mobile numbers
Local forces everywhere have worked hard to establish and maintain good communications within their local communities and good communication seems to be a vital tool
When landlines connections to local community forces are cut, community members (whose budgets do not stretch to contract phones) will have three options - text the 101 number, use the freephone 999 emergency number and risk police charges for misuse of the line, or dont communicate at all
Please sign this petition to ask the government to ensure communities everywhere will always have an alternative land or mobile number landline to connect with their local force
