Closed petition Treat people with pre-settled status as habitually resident for Universal Credit
Closed on
Lots of people who have Pre-settled status and are looking for work have been excluded from claiming Universal Credit.
Pre-settled status is a provisional residence permit which should grant direct access to Universal Credit regardless of whether the applicant has ever worked in the UK or is deemed to meet the habitual residence test. The Government must review rules for individuals with Pre-settled status to claim Universal Credit.
