I would like the Government to make it mandatory for at least two workers to be present at all times during a night shift as a minimum in the hotel industry. Hotel employees working alone at nights are at increased risk of assault and violence from others.

There have been cases where severe injury and death has occurred as a result of this. Current protections for those working alone at night in the hotel industry involves judgement of the employers to risk assess and decide what security measures do or don’t need to be in place. This in some circumstances has led to the failure in protecting those lone working.
