Closed petition Fund Free Photo ID for Voting Purposes

If the Government wants to introduce photo IDs as a voting requirement than they should fund a free photo ID for voting (including the photo taking) so those on lower incomes do not have to choose between voting and putting food on the table. Democracy is a right not a privilege.

More details

It is the Government's responsibility to ensure democracy is upheld. If the Government's recent move of requiring photo ID for voting is in fact a move to reduce voter fraud, then I see no reason as to why they wouldn’t approve a free photo ID as to reduce the impact this new ID would have on restricting voters. As this new ID would unequally restrict those on lower incomes, democracy is for all, not the few.
