Closed petition Require the BBC Board to be elected by public vote rather than by appointment

The BBC’s Royal Charter should be amended to allow for the Board of the BBC to be democratically elected by the British people rather than by appointment. A public vote should then be held at regular intervals to fill the seats on the Board.

More details

The BBC plays a central role in British public life and it is right that the Board which directs its policies should be directly democratically accountable to the electorate and licence-fee payers.
