Rejected petition Make the legal standard for women's safety in cars higher

I was horrified upon reading the article 'The deadly truth about a world built for men' in the Guardian (23/02/2019). It revealed that women are at a significantly higher risk in many aspects of life. The section regarding car safety stuck out to me as a young woman approaching driving age.

More details

Women are at a significant safety disadvantage in cars. Factors such as seat height and firmness, as well as mostly male crash-test dummies that don’t account for female muscle mass distribution, bone density, and pregnancy play a significant role in this.
As a result, in a car crash a woman is:
• 47% more likely to be seriously injured.
• 17% more likely to die.
Men are twice as likely to get into car crashes, yet women still have an overall higher chance of suffering serious injury.

Why was this petition rejected?

It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.

Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.

We understand that you are concerned about car safety for women, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do.

You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
