We’re waiting for a new Petitions Committee

Petitions had to stop because of the recent general election. Once a new Petitions Committee is set up by the House of Commons, petitions will start again.

Rejected petition Allow restriction free weddings, with lateral flow tests for guests on the day.

Allow restriction free weddings to go ahead from the 21st of June 2021, with all guests showing evidence of a negative lateral flow test on arrival. If this can be successful for public events with thousands of people, why can’t be successful for 100 at a private wedding?

More details

With our own wedding having already been postponed once, we cannot face the thought of another postponement, along with thousands of other couples in the same position. A wedding should be celebrated with your closest family and friends, very rarely less than 30 people. If the day cannot be everything you ever wished for, why should you compromise. If all guests have proved they are COVID negative, why can it not be the amazing, special, day the bride and groom have always wanted?
