All Government contracts should be subject to rigorous procurement procedures and should not allow informal/ personal arrangements to influence or subvert the contractual process.
There is much public interest in discovering the extent to which so-called VIP lanes are routinely allowed to over-ride the necessary due diligence and procurement process, by allowing public funding to be channelled towards individuals and organisations referred by Ministers, Secretaries of State and officials.
