Closed Include nightshades as identified ingredients on food allergens list

Food business operators in the retail and catering sector provide allergen information as set out in Food law.
There are currently only 14 allergens required to be declared. This does not include nightshade foods which can cause harmful reactions and can be hidden as starch or spice for example.

Information about the content of food items should be transparent. When there is a negative health consequence to it not being so it is so restrictive and dangerous. A simple requirement to clearly label ingredients seems a logical, necessary and achievable measure.
