Why was this petition rejected?

We can't publish petitions when the request is something that's already happening or something that has been announced since you started your petition.

We think your petition is covered by Government or Parliament action already. If you'd like something else, you could start a new petition clearly explaining what it is.

Parents on low incomes who have to stay at home to look after a child who is self-isolating, and who cannot work from home, can already claim a Test and Trace Support Payment of £500. You can find out more about how to claim for this here:

If there was a specific change you would like the Government to make to this scheme, such as a change to the total amount or the eligibility criteria, you could start a petition about that.

We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
