Rejected petition "Sully's Law" Pet crematoriums to scan microchips & inform the registered owner.
Create a law for euthanasia, cremation and burial industries to scan the dogs microchip to check the name & contact details of the registered owner against the identification of the person bringing them in. Make it legal requirement to contact the registered owner if this information does not match
More details
We face high numbers of pets being stolen for cruel purposes & puppy farms that result in high deaths of dogs that otherwise would have lived long & healthy lives. It can cost as little as £20 to have a dog cremated with a pet crematorium/burial company. The complete lack of law & regulations in the crem/burial industry creates a risk free & cheap way for criminals to get rid of evidence with no worry of traceability & results in loving owners never knowing what has happened to their family dog.

Why was this petition rejected?
It’s not clear what the petition is asking the UK Government or Parliament to do.
Petitions need to call on the Government or Parliament to take a specific action.
We understand that you are concerned about existing regulation of the euthanasia, cremation and burial of pets, but we're not sure exactly what you'd like the Government or Parliament to do. The title of your petition only refers to crematoriums, and it's not clear if you want this requirement to be imposed for just crematoriums, or for any business that is involved in the euthanasia, cremation or burial of a pet.
You could start a new petition explaining clearly what you would like the Government or Parliament to do.
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
