Closed Create rights for full compensation for sewer flooding from sewerage undertakers

Legislation needs to require statutory sewerage undertakers to pay full compensation for damage caused by sewer flooding, so they are fully accountable for any incentives to invest in infrastructure improvements.

We have been flooded 8 times by flooding from an overload of the sewer but currently there are minimal rights to compensation, and the statutory sewerage undertaker is not responsible for the cost of damage caused by flooding. Action is needed to increase rights for parties who suffer damage as a result of flooding, and create incentives for statutory sewerage undertakers to take action to prevent flooding.
