Closed petition Give constituents a power to recall local councillors

Currently many councillors only approach the constituents at election time, otherwise not to be seen or heard. Some councillors seem to support projects that do not benefit residents, do not listen to local residents, and push through changes without consultation. It's time to change this.

More details

We want the Government to give more power to the constituents. We need legislation which will enable the constituents to recall a councillor if they feel the elected councillor is working against residents. At present there are no provisions for constituents to recall a local councillor.
