Closed petition Offer grants for accommodation owners to install EV charging facilities.

When travelling in the UK using an Electric Vehicle (EV) it would be desirable to charge the car at any destination accommodation. The present cost of installation is prohibitive for hosts, so grants should be available to help the UK meet its carbon reduction target.

More details

Evidence of the climate crisis is increasingly becoming apparent. This Government has prior to COP26 set targets for the UK to reduce carbon emissions by enabling the use of electric vehicles. A grant for accommodation owners would be good value approach for helping the UK Government achieve the targets it has set out for itself.

Electric vehicle infrastructure debated by MPs

In the last two weeks, there have been two Westminster Hall debates on electric vehicle infrastructure.

Watch the debates, read the transcripts, and access other relevant material:

What are Westminster Hall debates?

Westminster Hall is the second Chamber of the House of Commons.

Westminster Hall debates give MPs an opportunity to raise local or national issues and receive a response from a government minister. Any MP can take part in a Westminster Hall debate.

Debates in Westminster Hall take place on ‘general debate' motions expressed in neutral terms. These motions are worded ‘That this House has considered [a specific matter]'. This means that Westminster debates don’t end in a vote on a particular action or decision.
