Closed petition Make it law for all Taxi/Cab/Uber vehicles to have internal cameras fitted

It is essential for the safety of both the driver and passenger(s) that internal cameras are fitted in vehicles that operate a transporting service to members of the general public. Journeys should be recorded and later monitored.

These devices will be vital in protecting vulnerable people at all hours, particularly between 5pm and 5am. Many incidents of anti social behaviour and unwanted sexual attention occurs within this time frame. Victims who cannot remember the details of said journeys either due to inebriation or the brain's trauma response can go some way to feeling validated if there was a recording that could support any allegation made. The cameras would be an important deterrant for future incidents to occur.
