Rejected petition Allow appeals in family court and the right to request a new judge
Allow appeals in family court for decisions made within the trial and for a person to be allowed request a new judge if you feel they are prejudice and can be backed up with evidence.
More details
I believe everyone should have a right to appeal. If criminals can appeal why can't a parent fighting for their children or their own protection? The family courts are failing multiple parents every day yet the decision is final. There is no way to get a second opinion or to get a re-trial. I want parliament to allow appeals within family court without there needing to be a strict criteria to follow.

Why was this petition rejected?
We can't publish petitions when the request is something that's already happening or something that has been announced since you started your petition.
We think your petition is covered by Government or Parliament action already. If you'd like something else, you could start a new petition clearly explaining what it is.
It is already possible to appeal a decision by a family court if you have legal grounds. You can find out more about appealing against a court decision in family cases here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/appeal-a-court-decision-civil-and-family-appeals-ex340/appealing-against-a-court-decision-in-civil-and-family-cases-ex340
It is up to the courts, not the Government or House of Commons, which judge hears a case, but if you're unhappy with a judge you can complain about them: https://www.gov.uk/complain-judge-magistrate-tribunal-coroner
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
