Closed Join the Beyond Oil and Gas Alliance and commit to its end date for fossil fuels

We are asking the government to join the Beyond Oil and Gas Alliance (spearheaded by Denmark and Costa Rica), commit to its end date by starting the decommissioning processes for extant fossil fuel extraction projects and power stations, and preventing licences for new projects.

The climate crisis is a huge threat to life as we know it. To combat this, the government must transition to renewable energy as fast as possible. Now is the time for rapid, decisive action, not empty rhetoric. The Government must have more ambition in safeguarding the future of its people.
