We’re waiting for a new Petitions Committee

Petitions had to stop because of the recent general election. Once a new Petitions Committee is set up by the House of Commons, petitions will start again.

Closed petition Require footwear retailers to set fair prices for disabled people

The Government should require retailers to offer single shoes/trainers etc at half the price that a pair would cost, and to allow the purchase of two different sized shoes at the same cost as a regular pair. This should ensure that disabled people including amputees are not financially penalised.

More details

My daughter is a partial foot amputee. Her shoe choices are already very restricted, and some of her shoes need to be bought as mismatched sizes. Very few retailers do same cost as a pair schemes, and only a few do a discounted second pair scheme. Most retailers charge full price for two pairs, so that we can make a single pair to use. Amputees who require only one shoe still have to pay for a full pair for their use.
