Petition stop the use of road salt

I wish to push a halt in the use of road salt.
Road salt provides little if any benifit to road users in terms of additional traction and significantly increases vehicle degredation and wear and tear.
There are many other alturnatives to road salt such as the use of sand, having winter tyres, studded tyres and chains that could be encouraged. Additional driver training should also be carried out, just as in Scandanivian countries.

There is little if any safety benefit especially when you consider the damage done to vehicles.
