Rejected petition Teach taxes in school
In school you learn times tables, how to find x but what we really need to learn is how to do taxes and pay bills.
I believe that in year 9 and up should have a lesson weekly about taxes
More details
In the future everyone will need to be able to do taxes but if school doesn't teach you how to do it then you need to ask someone else to explain it or on the internet. But why should people have to learn how to do it on their own when they could do it with the help and support of their teachers and classmates.

Why was this petition rejected?
We can't publish petitions when the request is something that's already happening or something that has been announced since you started your petition.
We think your petition is covered by Government or Parliament action already. If you'd like something else, you could start a new petition clearly explaining what it is.
We understand you are concerned about opportunities for life skills and financial education at secondary school, however students can already be taught about personal finances and economics through the Personal, Social, Health and Economic (PSHE) curriculum.
You can read more about the PSHE curriculum here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/personal-social-health-and-economic-education-pshe/personal-social-health-and-economic-pshe-education.
If there are other skills you'd like to be taught as part of the National Curriculum, you could start a petition clearly setting out what they are
We only reject petitions that don’t meet the petition standards.
