Rejected petition Police officers should not carry their warrant cards when off duty

The Government must introduce codes of practice that ensure officers are given their warrant cards at the start of their shift and cannot finish their shift until they have handed it again.

Police officers are more than capable of pretending to be on duty if they are carrying their warrant cards. This allows the awful possibilities of them being able to initiate unlawful processes from stop and searches to arrests. This is a huge threat to public safety, highlighted in recent events. If police reform is so necessary, this is definitely a part of it.
