Closed Minimum 5-year sentence for assaulting a police officer

Make it law that physical attacks against the police carry a minimum 5 year prison sentence. Laws need to be changed to show the police most law abiding citizens back the police.

The Police who are under attack in all areas need to know they have the backing of law-abiding citizens, the justice system and MPs. The Government needs to realise that suspended sentences for attacks against the police sends a message that the criminals have gotten away with the crime of assault. Too many criminals feel they can attack the police and there are no consequences. Show your support for the Police!
