Closed petition Introduce a voluntary National Insurance top-up to fund the NHS

Allow people to make a voluntary extra payment from their wage as part of their national insurance contribution in order to give the NHS more funding. People who are able to pay extra can determine what the extra amount will be.

More details

There are many people who are in a financial position to contribute more towards funding for the NHS and who would be happy to do so.
Making the contribution voluntary means that people can pay extra if they can afford to and reduce or stop the contribution if their financial situation changes.
If people know the money they are contributing is going directly to the NHS then I’m sure many would be happy to contribute.
