When you buy petrol or diesel there is a fuel tax applied, then they add VAT on that figure, so you end up paying VAT on the fuel tax, not just on the fuel.
You are only supposed to charge VAT on non essential items, that means that if you charge VAT on fuel duty, it must be a non essential item, so why are you making us pay it. If it is an essential item, we shouldn't be paying VAT on it.
